My 25th Birthday Party

Here we are at the restaurant where the party started. Imagine my surprise when I enter the restaurant and find everyone wearing pirate clothes!!  Turns out my birthday party became a One Piece party and everyone dressed up like pirates from the anime =^.^= They stuck a hat on my head and called me the Pirate King ;p  Here I am trying to decide what drinks they are going to buy me ;) The person to my left is Laura, with her husband Ed, and to my right is Derek's daughter, Diana.

Here we are getting ready to order food fit for pirates! The one smiling happily in the back is Jen, with her roommate Hilary next to her and on the far right is my own roommate, Lianne.

Here I am a bit later with my extremely large alcolholic mango concoction ;p All the while, Laura smiles happily at the camera in Derek's Luffy hat, or in his case, Shanks....that's the character he cosplayed ;p

After dinner we arrive at Derek's house for the REAL start of the party.  Turns out everybody had gotten together the previous night to decorate the entire house and plan everything.  I had lots of fun before we actually went in by running at the door, pretending to go in before anyone else and search out everything. I had the whole party running after me to keep me from going in until I laughingly reminding them that I didn't even have the key to Derek's house ;p  And yes...they made me wear that hat all night.... o.0~

It turned out that the reason so much planning had to go into the house and why they didn't want me roaming around too much was that they had hidden all my presents and made a very elaborate treasure hunt for me ;)  Here I am trying to find the first clue...the X on my 'map' marked the living room coffee table.  In this picture I just dumped all the macadamia nuts onto the table to try to find it...turns out this wasn't necessary because it was just under all those remotes lined up.... o.0~

After trudging up the stairs and then back down them in search for the answer to the first clue I finally found my first birthday present =^.^=  Derek got me a wonderful pheasant shirt, complete with poofy sleeves and a leather tie at the neck...I've always wanted one of those ;)  I had no idea that he had gotten it for me when we all went to the Ren Fair a couple of weekends before this.  That was actually my first ever Renaissance Festival =^.^=  And since this is a pirate themed party, they made that the first present for a reason....yup! You guessed it!  For the rest of the pictures in this album I'll be wearing that shirt ;)
